About
I'm Nicholas J. Dugan, and most people call me Nick. I work on what lets healthcare data move between payers, providers, EHR platforms, HIEs and QHINs, and I've seen that work from every side of the bed and the keyboard.
My focus is HL7® FHIR® and the rules built on it: the Da Vinci prior authorization guides (CRD, DTR and PAS), USCDI, TEFCA, and the CMS interoperability and prior authorization rule. I hold a personal membership in HL7 International and contribute to FHIR standards work.
I build in the open at ImOnFHIR: tools that run on synthetic data, and a running digest of the standards discussions I follow.
